Alto Boston Urethane Cement Flooring
Upgrade your flooring with Alto Boston’s urethane cement flooring solutions, serving residential, commercial, and industrial clients across the North and South Shore. Cementitious urethane flooring is made from a combination of urethane resin and Portland cement mortar or slurry, creating a tenacious bond when installed directly over concrete.
Benefits of Urethane Cement Flooring
While epoxy flooring combines resin and hardener to create a rigid, plastic-like texture, urethane cement is made from urethane resin and Portland cement mortar or slurry to create a cement-like texture.
Is Urethane Flooring Better for Your Space?
Urethane flooring is thermal shock resistant, chemical resistant, flexible, easy to clean, and protects against microbes and bacteria. If your space has high temperatures or uses harsh chemicals, urethane cement is the best choice.
Urethane cement flooring is best used for the following commercial industries:
- Food and beverage plants
- Commercial kitchens
- Wet processing operations
- Pharmaceutical or medical manufacturing industries
- Hospitals and other medical treatment facilities
This flooring also works in residential spaces, including:
- Garages
- Basements
- Laundry rooms
- Mudrooms/entryways
- Kitchens

Alto Boston’s Urethane Cement Process
Our expert team of contractors will determine the best solution for your residential or commercial property flooring. The urethane cement installation is a 4-step process, guaranteeing a long-lasting finish that will withstand changing environments.
1. Surface Prep
Our team will prepare the surface for installation by shot blasting, diamond grinding, and patching any damaged areas.
2. Primer Application
If primer is required for adhesion, we will apply a fast-curing resin in a thin coat.
3. Mixing of Cement
A low-speed drill mixes a measured amount of urethane resin and cement mortar or slurry.
4. Application of Cement Mixture
The new cement mixture is poured onto the floor and spread evenly using a gauge rake or trowel. A spiked roller is then used to release trapped air and smooth the surface.
I called Alto and had them install epoxy floor. What a transformation! The floor now looks fantastic and it’s a fitting complement to my cars. I couldn’t be happier with the work performed by Alto and the way they conducted themselves throughout the process. They’re a highly reputable company to work with and their epoxy floors are fantastic.
